Monday was spent by most shopping in Glasgow (even Tommy Savage could be seen scanning the shops for a bargain) (ha,ha) a few others found an entertainment centre and spent some time watching the skiers on the indoor ski slopes and also had a round of crazy golf. After an early tea we headed to the coach taking us to Edinburgh for the tattoo. The coach parked up to wait for us and after a short walk we were in the arena. The show started and was spectacular especially as the rain stayed away until 10 minutes before the end when the heavens decided to drench us, so it was ponchos to the ready but would we get them on in time? How not to put a poncho on was demonstrated by George Glenholmes who had everyone in stitches watching his antics,by the time he conquered the poncho the rain had stopped. On the way to the coach John and company came across a bounty hunter which they recommend to all visitors in the vicinity of Edinburgh.

Tuesday was our coach trip round Loch Lomond stopping at the village of Luss and Stirling Castle. We were fortunate in our driver and tour guide as the banter lasted all day amongst everyone and the craic was enjoyed by all who where there. Unfortunately time was not on our side and our trip to Stirling Castle had to be cut short but what we seen was worth it maybe another trip to see the rest is called for. On the way back to the hotel we all joined in a sing- song even if some of us were out of tune! Watch out the X factor! After dinner we put a PST team into the hotel pub quiz it was good craic but as the saying goes too many cooks spoil the broth, though we did manage to finish fifth.
Wednesday morning after breakfast we all finished any last minute shopping or packing and met in the hotel lobby at 12 oclock where we boarded the coach to the airport then home. Throughout the trip the banter and comradeship was first class. Everyone seemed to have a great time even the food was good. The only downside was the disappointment everyone felt at not seeing Michael Massey snorkelling in the hotel swimming pool, as promised. Ah well maybe next time.... |
